An embodiment of the present invention provides a method of transmitting a digital broadcast signal, which comprises the steps of: multiplexing auxiliary data including video data, audio data, an event information table (EIT), and a program map table (PMT) to MPEG-2 transport stream; and modulating and transmitting the multiplexed MPEG-2 transport stream to a broadcast signal. Regarding the multiplexing step, the EIT or the PMT includes a caption descriptor containing caption information. The caption descriptor includes the caption information exhibiting whether caption data included in the video data is the data providing a digital closed caption service according to electronic industry association (EIA)-708, or the caption data providing an analog closed caption service. |
