a stator having a plurality of tapered pole bodies, wherein each tapered pole body includes a first surface and a second surface; the first surface and the second surface are spaced apart and have a pair of slots defined between the first surface and the second surface on respective sides of each tapered pole body, wherein the pair of slots is configured to receive at least one winding, and each tapered pole body further includes a cooling tube coupled to the first surface, wherein the cooling tube is at least partially encompassed within the first surface, and wherein the tapered pole bodies are configured to prevent elevation of magnetic flux density traveling around the cooling tube. |
