Provided is a thermal diode (3) that can be used at room temperature and that transmits heat easily in a direction. The thermal diode (3) is formed from a first material (1), which is a ceramic material exhibiting thermal conductivity that increases in a temperature range of -200ºC to 1000ºC inclusive, and a second material (2), which exhibits thermal conductivity that decreases in said temperature range, that are joined together. It is preferred that the first material (1) has a microstructure characteristic length (La) of 1nm-10µm. |
