The present invention relates to an air conditioner for a vehicle and, more specifically, relates to an air conditioner for a vehicle to reduce an overall production costs and improve productivity by reducing the number of components and manpower to assemble the components as an evaporator is inserted slantly into an open bottom of an upper case, and a lower case is assembled to the upper case in the same direction as the insertion direction of the evaporator instead of inserting the evaporator into the side of an air conditioning case without using a separate side cover when the upper and lower cases are assembled. In addition to this, the air conditioner for a vehicle enables users to smoothly assemble the upper and lower cases in the same direction as the insertion direction of the evaporator by making a groove part and a protrusion part on the assembling surface of the upper and lower cases be assembled together in parallel to the insertion direction of the evaporator.
