<p>There is provided a quick release buckle including a tang element, the tang element being connectable to a strap or other structure, a housing element connectable to a strap or other structure, a mechanism for effecting a positive lock of the tang element in the housing element, the mechanism being operable to release the tang element from a positive lock condition via a movement of the mechanism, and an element configured to be contacted by the user to release the buckle from its locked disposition. The element is operable to apply a release force to the mechanism for effecting a positive lock of the tang element in the housing element to effect the release of the tang platform from the housing element in a manner such that the user does not directly engage the tang platform to effect this release.</p> |
