The present invention relates to a power control device for point to multipoint (PtM) physical channel which enables adaptive power control. Data is transmitted to multiple receivers via a specific channel from a transmitter. The specific channel is received to the receivers. Each receiver transmits power control data based on the measured reception quality and reception quality condition of each receiver. The transmitter uses the power control data, received from each receiver, to increase the power transmission level in case the power transmission level is requested to be increased, and to decrease the power transmission level in case all receivers exceed quality condition to meet the quality condition of receivers. A power control device of the present invention includes a transmitter and a processor. The processor is configured: to categorize each of wireless transmit/receive units (WTRU) based on the relationship between at least one channel among the PtM channels and WTRUs (WTRU groups from the WTRUs are relevant to the each of PtM channels); to adjust a transmission power level of each downlink (DL) channel which is relevant to the WTRUs; and to set up a PtM channel transmission power level for the each of the WTRU groups. The transmission power level for the each PtM channel is the same as the DL channel transmission power level which is required for one among the WTRUs of the WTRU group which is relevant to the PtM channel adjusted by an offset parameter and the transmitter is configured to generate a PtM channel which has the same transmission power level. |
