Brush 35 contacting walls 13, 14 forming V-shaped groove 12 of slip-ring 31 has the shape shown so that it sits farther from the apex of the V than does the known ball-shaped brush of similar size. The brush is therefore less likely to be pushed away from the walls by the accumulation of debris. Moreover, because of the relatively low radius of curvature of the brush at the points of contact 33, 34, wear particles, dust &c. tend to be wiped away instead of being trapped. Additional brushes, e.g. 36, of different widths, may be used with the same slip-ring. |
