Provided are a display device and a control method capable of recognizing one of the action and the voice of a user and offering guide information for one of the action and the voice of the user. The display device comprises a user recognizing unit which recognizes the action and the voice of the user; an image processing unit which processes the images for the action and the voice; a display unit which displays the processed images; a storing unit which stores the information of a textbook for the action and the voice; and a controlling unit which recognizes one of the action and the voice of the user, compares one of the action and the voice with the information of the textbook, and offers the guide information for one of the action and the voice of the user based on a compared result. Provided are the display device and the control method capable of enabling a user to intuitionally recognize the relation between current action or played sound and correct action/sound, thereby easily correcting the current action or the played sound.
