A machine for cutting spur or helically toothed internal or external gears by means of a pinion type cutter 12 II has the cutter spindle axis FF adjustably inclined in a plane parallel to the workpiece axis WW and has the cutter displaced in its axial direction by a distance C from the common perpendicular to the axes. The cutter spindle is adjustable axially and secured by bolts 22 and is vertically displaceable by means of a feed carriage 17 on the frame 18. An optical sighting device 23 is used when adjusting the cutter <SP>12</SP>II to its desired position. |
