The filter discs, which are included to a hollow shaft, are first rotated at a speed at which the suspension remainder is discharged fromt he discs, the rotation preferably being 20 - 30 r.p.m. After removal of the suspension from the filter housing, the rotation is increased to discharge the filtering agent. Preferably, a gas is forced through the filter discs before and/or during the first stage.
