摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide steel for induction hardening, capable of securing a torsional strength required in a steel component after induction-hardened, and having a characteristic excellent in toughness (in particular, Charpy impact value), and to provide a method of manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The steel contains, by mass, C:0.4-0.65%, Si:0.01-2%, Mn:0.2-2%, P:0.03% or less (not including 0%), S:0.002-0.1%, Cr:0.05-0.3%, Al:0.06-0.5%, B:0.0005-0.010%, and N:0.004-0.03%, and the remainder is iron and inevitable impurities. Metallographic structure of the steel has bainite and martensite, total area ratio of the bainite and the martensite with respect to the whole structure is 70% or more, and an area ratio of the bainite is more than 50% with respect to the whole structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p>
