<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound having a high refractive index, exhibiting no absorption of the ultraviolet range and no fluorescence, excellent in transparency, and polymerizable by an industrially advantageous ultraviolet curing apparatus using a high-pressure mercury lamp or the like; and to provide a method for producing the same, and a polymerizable composition containing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing a 10-acyloxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1,4-methanoanthracene-9-yl-(meth)acrylate compound includes acylating a 10-hydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1,4-methanoanthracene-9-yl-(meth)acrylate compound.
