An unmanned autonomous operating system comprises a station provided with a signal generator for supplying an electric pulse current area signal to an area wire that defines an operating area, and an unmanned autonomous vehicle having magnetic sensors for detecting a magnetic field generated by the area wire and a microcomputer programmed to recognize the operating area from the detected magnetic field, whereby a selection mechanism is installed at the station so as to output one of several possible area signals from the signal generator in response to a selection by a user, and whereby the area signal generated from the signal generator is registered by the vehicle as the registered area signal, and the operating area is further recognized based on that signal.
