Disclosed are a stand-alone photovoltaic system and a method of the same for controlling charging operation. When the charging voltage of a battery becomes bigger than a preset charging voltage of the battery and therefore the charging mode of the battery is switched from constant-current charging mode to constant-voltage charging mode, an embodiment of the present invention applies the magnitude of a PWM control signal outputted from a constant-current controller to a PWM control signal generated and outputted from a constant-voltage controller, thereby suppressing the generation of a transient effect in a region where the charging mode is switched to the constant-voltage charging mode.
