The present invention provides a brake system (13) for an industrial gearbox (20). The brake system (13) comprises two hydraulic brake cylinders (15), each hydraulic brake cylinder (15) comprising a brake shoe (16). The brake system (13) furthermore comprises a device (18) for causing movement of the hydraulic brake cylinders (15) and brake lines (17) for connecting each of the hydraulic cylinders (15) to such device (18).
