PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid oxide fuel cell which maintains good gas leak proofness of a unit cell while joining a metal frame to a metal separator by welding.SOLUTION: A solid oxide fuel cell of this invention includes: a metal frame 24; a metal separator 25 separating a fuel gas passage from an air passage; and a gas seal member 27. The metal frame 24 is divided into an outer peripheral side region R1 and an inner peripheral side region R2 and has a step structure S where the height H2 of a surface of the region R2 is lower than the height H1 of a surface of the region R1. The gas seal member 27 is disposed on the surface of the region R1 so as to closely contact therewith, and the metal separator 25 is joined to the surface of the region R2 by welding. The inner peripheral side of the gas seal member 27 protrudes above the region R2, and a welding portion (welding protrusion P) is not in contact with the gas seal member 27. Thus, when the metal frame 24 is joined to the metal separator 25 by welding, the adhesion between the metal frame 24 and the gas seal member 27 is not impaired and the gas seal proofness is improved. |
