<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new glutathione production promotor which promotes the glutathione production by the living body itself and persistently improves physiological functions in the living body. <P>SOLUTION: The glutathione production promotor includes an extract from Oenothera biennis Linne, genus Oenothera, Onagraceae family as the effective component. The glutathione production promotor acts, upon uptake into the living body, directly on the glutathione production pathway in the living body to promote glutathione production and exhibits such actions as 1. energy metabolism promotion, 2. anti-oxidation, 3. detoxification, 4. anti-allergy, and 5. anti-pigmentation.
