摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical displacement sensor which detects a period to be a step candidate and reduces an influence of a variation in a displacement amount due to vibration of a conveying device such as a belt conveyor and a variation in a displacement amount in the time direction, thereby further accurately detecting a step, and to provide a method for detecting the step in the optical displacement sensor. <P>SOLUTION: An optical displacement sensor calculates the displacement amount of a detecting object based on an output of a receiver, and performs a sampling at a prescribed timing. The optical displacement sensor calculates a difference value between the displacement amount sampled previously and the displacement amount sampled this time and determines a step period and a non-step period based on the calculated difference value. Then, the optical displacement sensor calculates an integrated value of the difference value in a period determined to be the step period, and compares a maximum value of the integrated value calculated for every period determined to be the step period with a first threshold to determine whether it is the step or not. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p>
