The present invention relates to a method for operating an electronic device comprising a touch screen comprising a step for receiving the input of a cursive script in a constant area of the touch screen; a step for displaying one or more related words which are related to the inputted cursive script and one or more first prediction words which are related to the inputted cursive script; a step for determining one selection word among the displayed related words and the displayed first prediction words; and a step for displaying one or more second prediction words related to the determined selection word. The present invention is provided to offer a user interface capable of intuitive data input through cursive script input and does not need a separate memory and a separate device.
