<p>A pick-up rake comprises of a handle 4 with primary and auxiliary rake heads and a sleeve 1 slidable longitudinally along the handle. The sleeve operates a pick-up mechanism 2 via a hinge 3 to enable the secondary rake head to be opened or closed. The weight of the sleeve maintains the pick-up mechanism in an open position when the handle 4 is used for normal raking. The pick-up rake may also have a locking mechanism 5 to maintain the auxiliary rake head in either an open or closed position. A torch attachment 6 may also be attached to the sleeve so that the pick-up rake can be used in low light conditions. The pick-up rake is easier to use than a normal rake and shovel combination and may reduce the possibility of back injury.</p> |
