The present invention relates to a method (100) for simulating a workload of a storage system (200). The method (100) comprises the steps of obtaining configuration data regarding first components of a first storage system (200), and obtaining performance data, the performance data comprising workload information of the first storage system (200). The method (100) further comprises the steps of configuring second components of a second storage system (400) based on the obtained configuration data, and operating the second storage system (400) using a simulated workload based on the obtained performance data.
