The device (1) has a rotating carrier (2), on which multiple molding stations (4) are arranged for molding plastic preforms (3a) into plastic containers (3b). A locking mechanism is provided with a locking cam (V), which moves partially with respect to the molding stations. The locking cam extends between a position, in which the blow mold carrier sections are opened and a position, in which the blow mold carrier sections are closed. An independent claim is included for a method for molding plastic preforms into plastic containers.
