<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dismantling apparatus and a dismantling method wherein a gypsum mold after casting is securely separated from a casting, and while preventing deterioration in the working environment, the dismantling of the gypsum mold is performed in a short period of time without damaging the casting. <P>SOLUTION: The gypsum mold 50 after casting is stored into the cover 2 of the dismantling apparatus 1, a jetting nozzle 12 in a jetting device 10 jetting a pressurized gas G is arranged toward the boundary K between the gypsum mold 50 and a casting 51. The pressurized gas G of prescribed pressure is jetted from the jetting nozzle 12 toward the boundary K, and, by the impulse of the pressurized gas G, the gypsum mold 50 is cracked. Simultaneously, the jetted pressurized gas G is infiltrated into a space between the gypsum mold 50 and the casting 51 from the boundary K, and, by the pressure due to the infiltration, the gypsum mold 50 and the casting 51 are peeled along the boundary.
