The front end of each tooth forms a wedge with a wedge angle and wedge edge between a chip surface (6, 6a) and a chip angle and a free surface (7, 7a) with a free angle. The wedge angle forms a peripheral cut of the tool. Preferred Features: The wedge edge is formed on the tooth head region and/or on at least one tooth side of the cutting tooth.
