An aspect of the present invention is to provide a pouch type secondary battery capable of improving the insulating performance and the attaching performance of an insulating tape in the sealing part of a pouch and a terrace end part. A pouch type secondary battery according to an embodiment of the present invention includes an electrode assembly for charge and discharge, a pouch which has a sealing part in the side of a cell body receiving the electrode assembly by sealing the edge and has a terrace drawing a first lead tap and a second lead tap which are connected to the electrode assembly in the other side of the cell body, and an insulating tape which is attached to the cell body by insulating the sealing part and has a short check hole adjacent to the end part of the terrace. The insulating tape insulates both ends of the end part.
