<p>Packaging can blanks are coated with a soln. or a dispersion of a 1-22%, pref. 8-21% polyvinyl acetal resin, pref. p.v. butyral, a normally solid epoxy resin, pref. bisphenol resin, with an epoxy equiv. of 425-6000 (pref. 2000-2500) and a m.wt. of 1000-4000 (pref. 3000), an A-state methylol-phenol resin, pref. 1-allyloxy-2,4,6-trimethylol benzene (A) which may contain small amts. of mono- or di-methylol phenyl allylether, and an o-, m- or pyrophosphate salt of a primary, secondary or tertiary aliphatic amine having 3-15C in the amien moiety (e.g. mono-dibutylamine and triamylamine pyrophosphates, triethylammonium, tertiary octylamine, laurylamine, allylamine and dicyclohexylamine metaphosphates). As solvent/dispersing agent, xylene, toluene, petroleum fractions (b.p. 230 deg.-415 deg.F), butanol, diacetone alcohol, amyl acetate, etc. can be used.</p> |
