Antiseptic compositions and uses thereof

Antiseptic compositions and kits containing a source of silver ions and menthol, which act in synergy such that a concentration of silver ions in the composition is substantially reduced, are disclosed. Further disclosed are uses of the antiseptic compositions as disinfectants and in the treatment of wounds.

1. An antiseptic composition comprising, as active ingredients, menthol and silver ions, and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, wherein said active ingredients are having concentrations selected from the group consisting of:
said silver ions is 0.29 mM and said menthol is 6.4 mM; said silver ions is 0.29 mM and said menthol is 3.2 mM; said silver ions is 0.29 mM and said menthol is 0.64 mM: said silver ions is 0.44 mM and said menthol is 3.2 mM; said silver ions is 0.6 mM and said menthol is 3.2 mM; and said silver ions is 0.6 mM and said menthol is 0.64 mM; wherein said menthol and said silver ions act in synergy.
