1. A stand for a musical instrument to be used for setting the musical instrument upright, the stand comprising:
a base section; a pair of first leg portions connected to the base section, wherein the first leg portions have an opened position, in which the first leg portions are opened about the base section, and a closed position, in which the first leg portions are closed about the base section; a first biasing device mounted to the base section, wherein the first biasing device biases the first leg portions in a direction for opening the first leg portions about the base section; a pair of second leg portions connected to lower ends of the first leg portions, wherein the second leg portions have a use position, in which the second leg portions are opened about the first leg portions, and a folded position, in which the second leg portions are folded about the first leg portions; two connecting shafts that respectively connect the first leg portions to the second leg portions, such that one connecting shaft is located at a joint between each of the first leg portions and a corresponding one of the second leg portions, wherein second biasing devices, which are different from the first biasing device, are respectively associated with the connecting shafts, and each second leg portion is biased by a corresponding one of the second biasing devices to move pivotally about a corresponding one of the connecting shafts from the folded position to the use position; a holding device for holding the pair of first leg portions at the closed position and holding the pair of second leg portions at the folded position, wherein the holding device is located on at least one of the first leg portions so that the holding device slides between a locked position and an unlocked position; and a locked-position biasing device for biasing the holding device toward the locked position, wherein by moving the holding device from the locked position to the unlocked position against a biasing force of the locked-position biasing device, a holding of the first leg portions and the second leg portions by the holding device is released, and the first leg portions are moved to and held at the opened position by the first biasing device and the second leg portions are moved to and held at the use position by the second biasing devices, the holding device is mounted to a primary one of the first leg portions, is adapted to slide along a side wall of the primary first leg portion, and includes a groove extending in an axial direction of the primary first leg portion, a secondary one of the first leg portions has a release recess at a position corresponding to the holding device, and the holding device is adapted to slide along a side wall of the secondary first leg portion near the release recess, the holding device is adapted to move from the locked position to the unlocked position against the biasing force of the locked-position biasing device by sliding along the side wall of the secondary first leg portion to the release recess, and the holding device is adapted to be returned to the locked position when the side wall of the secondary first leg portion enters the groove, to hold the first leq portions at the closed position. |
