A plant growing apparatus using artificial lighting employs a method of promoting the growth of plants by applying a light having a wavelength necessary for plant photosynthesis. The cultivation by the above method has advantages in that the cultivation is not affected by weather or the amount of sunshine and cultivation without agricultural chemicals can be easily performed for a closed type structure. However, an artificial lighting device (500) is turned on regardless of the sunshine amount of natural lighting applied to the plant growing apparatus, thereby causing unnecessary power consumption. The present invention relates to a plant growing apparatus (100) which cultivates plants using solar light and artificial lighting. When the measured illumination of the solar light satisfies the amount of light effective in the plant growth, multiple plant cultivation trays (300) are configured in a terraced form through sliding control, thereby maximizing the light irradiation efficiency and increasing the usability of space. Alternatively, when the amount of light is not satisfied, the plants are cultivated using the artificial lighting. |
