1. A forceps, comprising:
an end effector assembly including first and second jaw members, at least one of the first and second jaw members moveable relative to the other between a spaced-apart position and an approximated position for grasping tissue therebetween, at least one of the jaw members including a longitudinally-extending blade channel defined therein; and an electrical cutting insert releasably engageable within the blade channel of the at least one jaw member; wherein, the at least one jaw member is transitionable between a mechanical cutting mode, wherein the electrical cutting insert is disengaged from the at least one jaw member to permit reciprocation of a knife blade through the blade channel for mechanically cutting tissue grasped between the jaw members, and an electrical cutting mode, wherein the electrical cutting insert is engaged within the blade channel of the at least one jaw member for electrically cutting tissue grasped between the jaw members, the electrical cutting insert configured to snap-fit into engagement within the blade channel. |
