The present invention provides a vehicle spare tire carrier having a chain wheel which can prevent a chain wound on and released from the chain wheel from being twisted and can prevent the occurrence of pitch errors by ameliorating an engagement structure and a guide structure of the chain wheel. Regarding the vehicle spare tire carrier having a chain wheel for preventing twist and pitch errors of the present invention, the chain wheel comprises: a shaft supporting hole where a central part is penetrated; a holder engaging unit having an annular groove, and inner teeth formed on an inner peripheral surface of the annular groove; a horizontal chain ring base jaw formed in four places so as to support one side of a horizontal chain ring; a vertical chain ring guide groove in four places formed around the center of the horizontal chain ring base jaw as composed of a vertical chain ring base jaw and a vertical chain ring guide wall; four inner teeth; and four external teeth.
