<p>(1) Cpds. (claimed) of general formula (I):- where at least one of R1,R2 and at least one of R'1, R 2 = free or substd. NH2, and others = H, lower alkyl, or lower alkoxy-lower alkyl, pref. R1,R'1 = NH2, pyrrolidino, piperidino, morpholino, piperazino (opt. N-substd. by lower alkyl or hydroxy lower alkyl), esp. NMe2, pref. R2,R'2 = H, lower alkyl, eps. Me R3,R'3 = H, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy-lower alkyl Alk, alk' = alkylene (1,>1) radical (2-6 C), pref. propylene-(1,2, 1,3 or 2,3) or ethylene-(1,2). (2) Salts of (I) with non-toxic acids. (3) N-oxides of (I). (4) N,N'-di-(pyrimidyl-(4)-aminoalkyl)-diazacyloalkanes (alkylenes sep. N by not 2 C) (and N-oxides). (I) are antibacterial agents (active against e.g. T.B.), and in partic. are active against protozoa (esp. plasmodia(including resistant strains)), and piroplasms (e.g. babesia, babesiellae, and thieleriae). (I) also have anti-tumour and anti-inflammatory activity.</p> |
