Disclosed in the present invention are a method and an apparatus for reducing a memory and a communication bandwidth required for digital signal samples in global navigational satellite system (GNSS) receivers using an adaptive compression/decompression process. The method for a receiver of signals from a satellite navigation system according to the present invention comprises the steps of: receiving a signal from at least one satellite in the satellite navigation system; sampling the signals; compressing the digital signal samples; storing the compressed digital signal samples; etc.
