1. An access assembly configured and dimensioned for positioning within an opening in tissue, the access assembly comprising:
a tubular member having a proximal end and a distal end, the tubular member including an inner wall defining a passageway extending through the tubular member, the inner wall including internal threading; a first ring secured at the proximal end of the tubular member; a second ring secured at the distal end of the tubular member; wherein the first ring, the second ring, and the tubular member are inflatable; and a plug configured for insertion into the passageway of the tubular member, the plug including external threading configured and dimensioned for engagement with the internal threading to selectively secure the plug within the passageway to inhibit fluid communication through the passageway of the tubular member and to prevent surgical instruments from passing through the passageway of the tubular member. |
