The present invention provides sentence classification method and apparatus providing a user with an appropriate-level sentence by utilizing a sentence pronunciation difficulty level calculation rule generated by using characteristics of an inputted sentence and a pronunciation difficulty level of the sentence. The sentence classification apparatus according to the present invention comprises: a sentence input unit; a characteristic analysis unit; and a pronunciation difficulty level calculation unit generating a sentence pronunciation difficulty level calculation rule by using characteristics of an inputted sentence and a pronunciation difficulty level of the sentence.
