<p>The present invention relates to a method for upgrading firmware of a power line communication (PLC) modem and, more specifically, to a method for upgrading firmware of a PLC modem, which performs an upgrade of firmware according to a communication state of the PLC modem. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for upgrading firmware of a plurality of PLC modems with a tree structure comprises the steps of: (a) allowing a control server to transmit, to an upgrade management unit, a firmware image, upgrade list information, firmware image transmission time information and firmware upgrade time information; (b) allowing the upgrade management unit to check a communication state of at least one PLC modem matching the upgrade list information among the PLC modems and to transmit the firmware image to the at least one PLC modem matching the upgrade list information according to the check result; and (c) allowing the at least one PLC modem matching the upgrade list information to upgrade firmware using the firmware image. Therefore, reliability of firmware upgrade can be secured.</p> |
