PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable bright monochromic images to be displayed.SOLUTION: A display apparatus 1 comprises a display element 15; a light source device 30 that emits light rays of a plurality of primary colors toward the display element 15; selecting means that selects either a simultaneous mode or a sequential mode as the operating mode of the light source device 30 (a main controller 16 at steps S16 and S36); and light source control means that causes the light source device 30 to simultaneously emit the plurality of primary colors when the simultaneous mode is selected or causes the light source device 30 to sequentially emit the plurality of primary colors when the sequential modes is selected (the main controller 16 at steps S18, S20, S38 and S40). |
