PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of reducing power consumption of a display unit even without luminance adjustment by the display unit when an image of an original read by an original reader is to be displayed.SOLUTION: When an original is a document original, an image processor 13 reduces the luminance of image data of the original read by an original reader 12. A controller 18 transmits the image data reduced in luminance by the image processor 13 to an external terminal 4 via a communication unit 16 and a network 3. The display unit of the external terminal 4 or an operation unit 11 uses a normally black panel to display an image on the basis of the image data reduced in luminance, which reduces power consumption for screen display without separately performing luminance reduction processing.
