PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve highly accurate pixel interpolation by reducing erroneous determination of edge direction due to noise or movement of a subject.SOLUTION: An image processing apparatus performing interpolation of image data for the target pixel of an image sensor is provided. Direction determination means determines the direction of an edge in a target pixel of a plurality of images. Calculation means calculates the positional deviation amount in the plurality of images. Correction means corrects the direction of an edge thus determined in the target pixel of a plurality of images, based on the positional deviation amount thus calculated, and acquires a plurality of direction determination signals. Generation means generates a new direction determination signal based on the plurality of direction determination signals. |
