<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To readily measure a maximum value of relative displacement between two objects with low cost.SOLUTION: A displacement measuring device 1 comprises: first and second members 2, 3 moving relative to each other; a third member 4 movably mounted on the first member or the second member; and measurement means 5 for measuring a movement distance of the third member. When the first and second members move in a direction where they separate from each other, the third member moves to follow the first member or the second member. When the first and second members do not move relative to each other or when both the members 2, 3 move in a direction where they approach to each other, the third member stands still with respect to the first member or the second member, or keeps standing still. The measurement means measures a distance between an initial position of the third member and a standstill position after the movement of the third member. The measurement means is provided in the first member in its axial direction, has a zero point associated with the initial position of the third member, and can serve as a scale in which values increase in a direction approaching to an end on a side opposite to an end to which a moving member is fixed.</p> |
