<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel copolymer useful as a binder resin of an inkjet ink or a water-based paint.SOLUTION: The copolymer is obtained by radically polymerizing monomers, which form repeating units represented by general formulae (1) and (2), in the presence of a radically reactive surfactant copolymerizable with these monomers. [In the formula (2), R is a hydrogen atom or a cation; X is a C2-C18 alkylene group; Y is a bond, an oxycarbonyl group [(X)-O-CO-(Z)], a carbonyloxy group [(X)-CO-O-(Z)], an ether group (-O-), or an imide group [(X)-N-CO-(-CO-)(Z)]; and Z is a biphenyl group or a naphthalene group.]</p> |
