PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heating cooker capable of reducing time taken when the temperature is changed and excellent in thermal uniformity.SOLUTION: A heating cooker 10 is equipped with a cooking plate 11 having a cooking surface 11a on which a food material F is placed for heat cooking, and a heater 13 for heating the cooking plate 11. The heater 13 is composed of a layered heating element 13a and an insulation material 13b whose main component is polyimide that electrically insulates the heating element 13a. The heater 13 is preferably provided in at least two areas separately in a plane parallel to the cooking surface 11a, and a temperature sensor 16 is more preferably provided in each area in the cooking plate 11.
