PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens having an angle of view exceeding 100° at the wide angle end, achieving a reduction in size, and providing excellent optical performance over the entire zoom range, an imaging optical device having the zoom lens, and a digital device.SOLUTION: A zoom lens ZL includes at least, in order from the object side, a negative first group Gr1 and a positive second group Gr2. When zooming from the wide angle end W to the telephoto end T, the distance between the first group Gr1 and the second group Gr2 is decreased, and a stop ST is moved integrally with the second group Gr2. The first group Gr1 includes, in order from the object side: a front group Gr1F including only negative lenses; and a rear group Gr1R including two lenses which are, in order from the object side, a positive lens and a negative lens, and having a positive power as a whole. The zoom lens ZL satisfies the following conditional expression: 0.06<T1/Lmax<0.11 (where T1 is a distance between the front group Gr1F and the rear group Gr1R in the first group Gr1 on the optical axis AX, and Lmax is the maximum total length of the zoom lens ZL during zooming. |
