The present invention relates to a cable laying apparatus for easily laying a cable. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the cable laying apparatus moves along a cable tray including a longitudinal direction member to be disposed in parallel and a plurality of traverse direction members to be connected between the longitudinal direction members. The present invention includes: a body unit which moves on the cable tray; a variable arm which is connected to the body unit and varies in length in a laying direction of the cable tray to be connected to the body unit; a height control unit which controls the height of the variable arm; and a tow unit which is connected to the body unit and tows the cable. The variable arm includes: a variable arm fixing unit which is connected to the body unit; a variable arm variable unit which is supported on the variable fixing unit and changes a location thereof in the laying direction of the cable tray; and a variable arm hang unit which is connected to the variable arm variable unit and hang the longitudinal direction member. The height control unit includes a cam member to be connected to the variable arm fixing unit. The variable arm variable unit controls the height of the variable arm and moves forward without interference on the longitudinal direction member of the variable arm hang unit by rotating the cam member in the case of increasing the variable arm variable unit in the laying direction of the cable tray. The variable arm hang unit controls the height of the variable arm by rotating the cam member and allows the variable arm hang unit to hang on the longitudinal direction member after the longitudinal direction member passes by. The variable arm hang unit moves the body unit toward the laying direction of the cable tray by compressing the variable arm in a state where the variable arm hang unit hangs on the longitudinal direction member.
