PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of more accurately adjusting a K value in a differential push-pull method and a method for driving the optical disk device.SOLUTION: An optical disk device includes: an optical pickup having an objective lens and a light reception part for receiving reflected light from an optical disk; a signal processing part for generating a main push-pull signal MPP and a sub push-pull signal SPP by using a signal from the light reception part, and for generating a tracking error signal TE by calculating MPP-K×SPP; and a control part for executing midpoint servo processing, offset processing (S111, S121) of adding an offset value to the lens error signal LE indicating the deviation of the position of the objective lens, stabilization waiting processing (S112, S122) of waiting for the stabilization of the vibration of the optical disk, measurement processing (S113, S123) of measuring the tracking error signal TE and K value adjustment processing (S106) of adjusting the K value in accordance with the measurement result. |
