PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coordinate detection device for preventing a virtual image due to light reflected on the surface of a display from being projected to a light receiving element.SOLUTION: A coordinate detection device includes: a light emitting element, disposed at a peripheral part surrounding the surface of a display, for emitting light in parallel with the surface of the display; and a light receiving element, disposed at the peripheral part surrounding the surface of the display, for receiving light from the light emitting element. The coordinates of a contact position of instruction means that is in contact with the surface of the display are detected on the basis of the distribution of the intensity of light received by the light receiving element. The coordinate detection device includes polarization means for limiting the vibrating direction of light incident to the light reception surface of the light receiving element to a predetermined direction where only a virtual image is obtained. |
