PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an article information recognition device that enables article information displayed in an information display surface of an article to be quickly recognized.SOLUTION: An article information recognition unit executes: category character string detection processing of detecting a category character string serving as a character string indicative of a category of article information in a captured image; character string extraction processing of setting, in the captured image, a display scheduled area where a content character string serving as a character string indicative of the article information corresponding to the category character string is planned to be displayed on the basis of the category character string detected in the category character string detection processing, and extracting the content character string present in the display scheduled area; and article information recognition processing of recognizing the article information on the basis of the content character string extracted in the character string extraction processing. |
