摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery having a high battery performance (e.g. superior durability) by forming a more homogeneous coating film on a surface of a negative electrode active material.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery herein disclosed comprises the steps of: (1)preparing a negative electrode by applying, onto a negative electrode current collector, a composition including a negative electrode active material and an oxalate complex compound including boron as a constituent element; (2)preparing an electrode body by use of the negative electrode; and (3)enclosing the electrode body and a nonaqueous electrolyte in a battery case, provided that the nonaqueous electrolyte does not substantially contain the oxalate complex compound. The electrode body may include an alkaline component as an inevitable impurity. According to a preferred embodiment, lithium bis(oxalate)borate (LiBOB) is used as the oxalate complex compound.
