<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnetic contactor which can be made compact while enhancing the extinguishing performance of arc generated between a movable contact and a fixed contact during current interruption.SOLUTION: An electromagnetic contactor 10 has cases 11, 12, 13, in which an electromagnet 17 including a fixed core 18 and a movable core 19 facing the fixed core, a fixed contactor 15 including a fixed contact 15b, a movable contactor 28 moving in the same direction as the movable core and including a movable contact 28a coming into contact with the fixed contact and separating therefrom, and movable supports 29, 30 coupling the movable contactor and movable core are arranged. The electromagnetic contactor includes a gas jet section 26 for jetting an arc-extinguishing gas to at least one of the fixed contact and movable contact when the movable contact starts to separate from the fixed contact.</p> |
