PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pen needle assembly in which the injection depth of a needle is defined without reference to the position of an outer sleeve.SOLUTION: In a pen needle assembly 10 in which a needle cannula 14 is shielded by a first passive shield after injection, a hub 12 adapted to receive a medication pen body includes a hub post 16 that extends distally beyond an outer sleeve 18 of the assembly. A distance d1 between the distal end of the needle cannula and the distal end of the hub is the effective penetration depth of the needle cannula. |
